InterviewPal

Interview setup

Mode

Coach mode needs an API key. Add one in Settings.

Question sets (tick one or more)

Tip: speak into a microphone close to your mouth, such as a headset. The laptop's built-in microphone is usually further away and picks up more room noise, which makes recognition much worse.

Tip: place this window so the interviewer's eyes sit just below your webcam, and look at them while you answer.

Question sets

Keep separate sets, for example Leadership and Technical. Each question belongs to one set. You pick which sets to practise when you start.

Load your notes

Supports .md, .txt, .docx and .pdf. Files are read in your browser and never uploaded. Questions are added to the open set.

Questions in ""

Backup

Save all your sets to a file, or restore them from one. The file contains your notes, so keep it private and do not put it in the git repository.

Import a sets file (sets with the same name are merged, and questions that already exist are skipped):

History

Finished sessions are saved here, in this browser only. They include your answers, so keep this computer private. The latest 200 sessions are kept.

Coach mode (AI)

Practice mode needs none of this. For Coach mode, paste an Anthropic API key. It is kept only in this browser and sent only to the Anthropic API.

Microphone check

Speech recognition works best with a clear, steady voice level. Press the button and speak normally for a few seconds. It shows which microphone is in use and how loud you are. Nothing is recorded. It tests the microphone chosen on the Interview screen.

Test it

Sends one tiny request to Anthropic to check that the key and model work. It costs a fraction of a cent.

Anyone who can open this browser profile can read the saved key, so do not use a shared computer. You can also set a monthly spend limit for the key in the Anthropic Console.
